Wah!Cade has numerous installation methods.
Linux
Debian package
- Download the .deb package
- sudo dpkg -i <filename>
Source package
- Download the source package
- tar xvf <filename>
- See Additional Packages
Ubuntu package
- sudo apt-get install wahcade
Development versions
- Install bzr (Refer to your distribution manual)
- Branch source
- bzr branch lp:wahcade (Ubuntu derivatives only)
- bzr branch http://bazaar.launchpad.net/%2Bbranch/wahcade/
Windows 32bit
This procedure is tested with Wah!Cade 0.99pre8 on Windows XP
Packages Required:
- Python 2.6
- Glade with GTK+
- PyGTK
- pycairo-1.8.6.win32-py2.6.exe
- pygobject-2.20.0.win32-py2.6.exe
- pygtk-2.16.0+glade.win32-py2.6.exe
- Chardet
- PIL
- Wah!Cade Source
- Optional Packages
Installation procedure:
- Run the Python 2.6 Installer
- Run the Glade with GTK+ Installer
- Run the PyGTK+ Installers:
- Extract the Chardet package to a temporary directory
- From a command prompt in the chardet directory run python ./setup.py install
- Run the PIL installer
- Extract the Wah!Cade source
- Install optional packages
- Run the PyGame installer
- Run the Gstreamer installer
- Run the Psycho installer
